A sea of emotions pass through my soul
as I look back over my life.
Sometimes it's really hard to believe
that I was in so much strife.
A strange feeling fills my heart
as I think of what happened to me.
It's soon replaced with a sense of peace
as I know this person I have come to be.
My experiences have made me strong
and given to me a compassionate heart.
If I see someone traversing that same road
I will hold out my hand to show them a new start.
